How to Transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Shining Pearl to Pokemon HOME
To transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Shining Pearl to Pokémon HOME, make sure Pokémon HOME is installed and updated on your Nintendo Switch. You do not need a Premium Plan for this transfer — the free version of HOME is enough, though it limits your Pokémon storage.
Open Pokémon HOME on your Switch and select “Pokémon” from the main menu. Choose the user profile connected to your Shining Pearl save file, then select Pokémon Shining Pearl as the game to connect. Once loaded, your in-game PC storage boxes will appear on the left, and your HOME boxes will be on the right.
Drag any Pokémon you’d like to transfer from your Shining Pearl boxes into your Pokémon HOME storage. Only Pokémon in PC boxes can be moved — party Pokémon and unhatched Eggs won’t be shown. It’s a good idea to organize your boxes in Shining Pearl beforehand so your transfers are ready. When done, press the “+” button to save and confirm the transfer.
After the transfer, your Pokémon are safely stored in HOME. You can later send compatible species back to Shining Pearl, or move them to other supported games if they’re allowed. All transfers between Shining Pearl and HOME must be done using the Switch version of Pokémon HOME, though the mobile app can be used to view, trade, or organize your collection.
