How to Transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon HOME

Transferring Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME works a little differently, but it’s easy once your accounts are linked. You’ll need a Pokémon HOME account linked to your Nintendo Account and access to the Pokémon HOME mobile app. You do not need a Premium Plan to transfer from GO — all users can access this feature, although your Pokemon Storage will be limited on a free plan.

Start by opening the Pokémon HOME mobile app and logging in with your Nintendo Account. Then, in Pokémon GO, tap the Poké Ball icon to open the menu, go to Settings, scroll down to Connected Accounts, and link your Nintendo Account. Make sure it’s the same one used in Pokémon HOME.

Once linked, go back to the GO Settings menu and tap Pokémon HOME. You can now send Pokémon by using GO Transporter Energy — a resource that recharges over time. Select the Pokémon you want to send, review the details (including any stat or form changes), and confirm the transfer. Then, open Pokémon HOME (on mobile) to receive them.

After receiving the Pokémon in HOME mobile, they’ll appear in your HOME storage and can be managed or moved to compatible Nintendo Switch games like Sword, Shield, Scarlet, or Violet — as long as the species is supported. Note: Transfers from GO are one-way only — Pokémon cannot be returned to GO once moved to HOME.
