How to Transfer Pokemon from Pokemon Black to Pokemon HOME

To transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Black to Pokémon HOME, you’ll need a Nintendo 3DS, Poké Transporter, Pokémon Bank, and a Pokémon HOME Premium Plan. Transfers require using both apps, and once a Pokémon enters HOME, it cannot go back to Bank or your original game.

Insert your Pokémon Black cartridge into your 3DS and launch Poké Transporter. The app will read Box 1 of your PC and show the Pokémon stored there. You can only transfer Pokémon from this one box, so prepare by moving everything you want into Box 1 before starting. Then use Poké Transporter to send those Pokémon into Pokémon Bank.

Next, open Pokémon Bank and confirm the transferred Pokémon have arrived. Move them into Bank’s standard storage boxes and save. Now, switch to your Nintendo Switch and open Pokémon HOME. From the main menu, go to “Move”, choose “Move from Pokémon Bank,” and follow the steps to generate a Move Key.

Return to Pokémon Bank on the 3DS, select “Move Pokémon to Pokémon HOME,” and input the Move Key. Your Pokémon will transfer and appear in your HOME storage. From there, you can organize them or move compatible Pokémon into supported games. The move is permanent, so double-check before sending.
